iPhone games without ads
or in-app purchases

Pay once, own it, play in peace. Here's what that promise actually means, why it's worth paying for, and how to check before you buy.

Most mobile games are free because you are the product: ads sell your attention, and in-app purchases are engineered to keep you spending. A small but growing corner of the App Store does the opposite — you pay once, and the whole game is yours. This page explains the difference and helps you find games that respect your time.

What "pay once" really means

A genuinely premium game clears all of these, not just some:

  • No ads — nothing interrupts play to sell you something.
  • No in-app purchases — no coins, gems, boosters, loot boxes or "remove ads" upsell. The price on the store page is the whole cost.
  • No energy timers — you're never forced to wait (or pay) to keep playing.
  • No tracking — no advertising identifier, no data harvesting, no profile of you.
  • Playable offline — a truly self-contained game doesn't need a server to work.

Why it's worth paying for

  • No manipulation. Free-to-play economies are tuned to create friction you can pay to remove. A one-time purchase removes the incentive to design against you.
  • No interruptions. No 30-second video between turns, no pop-ups mid-session.
  • Privacy by default. If a game collects nothing and phones home to no one, there's nothing to leak or sell.
  • Great for kids — and flights. No ads means nothing inappropriate slips through, and offline play is perfect for planes, trains and dead zones.
  • It's usually cheaper. One fair price often costs less than a few weeks of a "free" game's nudges.

How to check before you buy

The App Store tells you more than most people realise. Before you download:

  • On the app's page, scroll to "In-App Purchases." If the section is absent, there are none. If it lists coin packs, be cautious.
  • Open "App Privacy" at the bottom of the page. Look for "Data Not Collected" — that's the gold standard.
  • Check the description for the words "no ads" and "one-time purchase." Honest developers say it plainly.
